INDUCTED 2003 - GARY BONETTI 
 
 
Gary was born into a trapshooting family. With his father Bill and Uncle Bob as mentors, Gary started registering targets in 1972 at the age of 12. He logged his first 100 straight when he was 14.

Since 1980 Gary has earned 12 trophies in the Grand American competition. In 1991 he won the All-Around with 398X400 and placed second in the Grand American Handicap with 100 from the 27, completing his ATA Grand Slam. He also captured first-place honors in the 1997 Preliminary Saturday doubles with the lone 100 and has been a member of two winning zone teams.

Gary collected California State Doubles titles in 1984, '89 and '01, all for perfect scores. He also claimed the 1996 Western Zone singles crown with 200 plus 250 in shoot off.

Gary earned the junior trophy in the feature handicap at the 1976 Golden West Grand. In 1999 he won that event, along with the top all- around prize. He has captured numerous other trophies in Golden West Grand competition, along with prizes at the Spring Grand and Nevada State Shoot.

Gary has been a fixture on the California Men's State Team since 1984 and he has achieved All-American status five times - from 1990 through 1992 and again in 1997 and 2000.

During his shooting career, Gary has registered 75,175 singles, 112,050 handicap and 55,450 doubles targets.

Gary Bonetti was inducted in to the California Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 2003.
